Culture night at the photo museum
On Saturday night at January 18 2020, cultural night was held in Greenland, and Ammassalik Museum attended to this event.
As the Cultural Historic Museum is still closed indefinitely due to vandalism, the evening took place at the Photo Museum.
The museum opened its doors at 5 pm with a varnishing of a brand new exhibition. The exhibition is about the east greenladic dogsled culture, and shows a new and an old east Greenlandic dogsled, equipped with the most common hunting equipment.
In addition to the varnishing, the Museum had arranged 2 cultural events. A drum dance event inside the photo museum, and outside a dog whip competition.
Approximately 20 people took part in the competition. The three winners all knocked down 5 cans, and in a draw the result was as follows:
1st place Abia Kuitse
2nd place Emil Møller Yde Larsen
3rd place Hans Erik Holm Pedersen
In total, approx. 300 people visited the photo museum during the evening.
