The Old Church

The main building of the museum is listed and holds the ethnographical collection. The building was the first Christian church in town, opened in 1908. Since then, the population has increased considerably, necessitating a new and bigger church. The town’s new church was opened in 1986 and the old church was then taken into use as a museum in 1990.

In October 2019, the museum was exposed to extensive vandalism, which has resulted in the museum being closed indefinitely. Update on reopening will come later. (updated Jan 28, 2020)
